Patterned Curtain Round-Up

Patterned curtains are a great way to add personality to your room. Whether they’re a bold vintage floral, my personal favorite, or a subtle tone-on-tone gingham, curtains can ground your room, be a focal point, or add softness and layers. Here’s a round-up of some of our favorites and some tips and tricks along the way.

First up, vintage florals:

Vintage florals are loud, a feast for the eyes, and bring in an exciting amount of pattern. They can nicely complement a calm feeling space and also are a good place holder for wanting wallpaper, a more permanent pattern route.

We love searching sites like ebay, etsy or chairish for beautiful vintage curtains. Also, always check for curtains at your local thrift stores. You’ll have to look frequently, but there are gems waiting for you if you’re patient.

For a more tone-on-tone or graphic feel, let a plaid or a stripe complement the existing design of your space without calling too much attention.

Fabric choice and quality can make or break your curtain impact. We recommend looking for natural materials like cottons, linens, or woven fabrics.
